Pellet Therapy

Studies show that hormone replacement therapy with pellet implants is a proven way of delivering hormones in both men and women. Implants that are placed under the skin can consistently release small doses of hormones.

Pellet Therapy has consistently been proven to improve in the following areas:

  • Sex Drive and Libido
  • Headaches and Migraines
  • Insomnia
  • Cardiovascular Health
  • Joint Aches and Pains
  • Mood and Depression
  • Hot Flashes

Hormone replacement therapy has been used in the U.S., Europe, and Austrailia since 1938. Over the past 10 years, this particular form of hormone replacement has grown in popularity, due to advances made and a better understanding of the benefits of fused pellet implants for hormone replacement.

The consistent doses of hormones you will receive have been shown to maintain and improve bone density. Pellet implants don't negatively impact clotting factors, lipid levels, blood pressure liver function, or glucose. Pellet implants bypass the liver.

What is Pellet Therapy?

The Lime in the Coconut has recently announced that we will soon be offering pellet therapy at our compounding pharmacy at the Lake of the Ozarks. Many of you may be wondering what is pellet therapy? In this blog, we will define pellet therapy, who it's for, and why you should use it.

What is Pellet Therapy?

Pellet Therapy is a sustainable delivery of bioidentical hormone therapy. Every 3 to 6 months a pellet made of bioidentical hormones can be inserted under the patient's skin. This is usually inserted into the upper part of the buttock or near the hip. The pellets contain customized levels of estradiol or testosterone. It is slowly metabolized over the course of 3 to 4 months. It metabolizes, it releases the bioidentical hormone in a similar way as the body's natural hormones are secreted.

Who is BioIdentical Hormone Replacement Therapy for?

Really, the only true way to know if you need bioidentical hormone replacement therapy is through specific laboratory testing. There are specific lab panels out there that can determine if your hormones are imbalanced. Signs and symptoms of hormone imbalance include, but are not limited to:
  • fatigue
  • depression
  • hair loss
  • weight gain
  • muscle atrophy
  • low energy levels
  • insomnia mood swings
  • hot flashes
  • night sweats
  • anxiety
It's important to know that in many cases, hormone imbalances can occur with expected life changes such as menopause or andropause. Saliva testing for hormones is available at the Lime in the Coconut.

Why Should I Use Pellet Therapy?

Generally, your body's natural hormones begin to decline after your mid-20s. Hormone imbalance symptoms can frequently present themselves by your mid-30s. If you are experiencing symptoms of hormone imbalance, visit your physician. You'll want to seek testing and treatment as soon as possible. If you delay in addressing your hormone imbalance, it can affect your future health and quality of life.
