HCG & How it Can Help You Lose Weight

Losing weight can be so difficult at times. Sometimes, it it just very hard to get the results you want. We here at The Lime In The Coconut have a secret weapon for you that help you lose weight, it's called HCG or Human Chorionic Gonadotropin. In this blog, the best compounding pharmacy at the Lake of the Ozarks will discuss what HCG is, a few frequently asked questions we have received and answered about it, and how the HCG diet works.

HCG

HCG (or Human Chorionic Gonadotropin) is a hormone that is naturally produced in a woman's body during pregnancy. It's unique effect on the hypothalamus causes the body to use excess fat as its main energy source. This leads to the body actually using the fat it has stored. This can cause impressive weight loss.

Frequently Asked Questions About The HCG Diet

Q: How Much Weight Can I Lose?

A: It depends. Everybody's bodies are different. If you follow the HCG diet as specified, you should expect to lose anywhere from 15 to 35 pounds by the end of the program,.

Q: How Do I Administer HCG?

A: It can be administered a couple of different ways:

  •  form of sublingual drops
  •  nasal spray,
whichever you would prefer. Both are available for both the 26- or 40-day schedule.

Q: Is HCG Dangerous To Men Since Its Found In Pregnant Women?

A: No, in the past, men who have taken HCG actually tend to lose weight quicker than women do. There have been no reports of men experiencing adverse side effects or a decrease in sexual function.

The HCG Diet Process

In order to achieve success with the HCG diet, we recommend following two specific regimens:

  • taking a dose of HCG every day
  • limiting yourself to a daily intake of 500 calories. For best results, we believe sticking with the diet for either 26 or 40 days (whichever works for your schedule).

By limiting your caloric intake to only 500 calories per day, you allow your body to burn the excess fat it has stored.

5 Tips to Consider When Your Dog Has an Upset Stomach

The Lime in the Coconut Compounding Pharmacy is dedicated to the health of our beloved animals. We are thrilled to be able to offer easy and tasty solutions for your pet needs. If your dog has an upset stomach, there are things you should consider. In this blog, we will offer four tips that you may want to think about when your dog has an upset stomach.

Always Consult a Veterinarian Before Using Treatment

Dogs typically will eat grass when their stomachs are upset. This is the natural way to cleanse out your dog's stomach. However, this could be a good indicator that you might want to take them to visit your local vet. You may read about home remedies or over the counter medications, but ALWAYS consult your vet before proceeding with treatment.

Figure Out What Your Dog Ate

When you know your dog has an upset stomach, it's best to do a little investigating and figure out what they ate prior to the stomach ache. This information could assist your vet in finding the diagnosis.

Keep Your Dog Hydrated

It is very important to keep your dog hydrated at all times, especially if they are experiencing diarrhea. If your dog is experiencing diarrhea, he or she could become dehydrated quickly. Although, don't assume that you can keep your dog hydrated on water alone. He or she will also need vitamins and electrolytes to retain fluids. Consult your vet as soon as possible fore treatment.

Check Your Dog's Temperature

You may want to take your dog's temperature as well. Rectal thermometers are most accurate, but ear thermometers can be used as well. Your dog's normal body temperature should be about 101.5 degrees Fahrenheit. If the temperature is higher than 102 degrees or lower than 99 degrees you should take your dog to see a vet immediately. 102 degrees or higher could indicate a fever.

Consider Compounded Medication

Just like humans, no 2 animals are alike. Our compounding pharmacy at the Lake of the Ozarks offers customized dosages to meet your dog's specific needs. In certain situations, your veterinarian may prescribe a particular medication that is on backorder and not locally available. In these situations our talented pharmacy technicians can mix active ingredients together to create a prescription for an otherwise unavailable (or discontinued) product. We make medication for dogs taste like tasty treats! If you have ever had to feed your dog a pill, you know that they most dogs hate pills. At The Lime in the Coconut, we have a solution. Rather than trying to hide the pill in peanut butter or cheese, feed your dog medication that actually tastes like one of their favorite treats! We can make your dog's medication taste like:

  • Bacon
  • Shrimp
  • Banana
  • Salmon
  • Tuna
  • Chicken
  • Beef
  • Peanut Butter
  • Fish
  • Marshmallow

We can also deliver the medication as a transdermal gel, flavored suspension, or a flavored capsule, which ever works best for your particular dog's needs. If you have a sick dog at home in need of medicine, call us today to learn more about our veterinary compounding services at the Lake of the Ozarks. We would be honored to help you take care of your beloved dog.

In most cases yes, but every case is different. Consult your physician on when and how its ok to prescribe topical pain creams for a child.

Applying topical pain creams significantly lowers the risk of dependence and addiction.

We Offer Many Forms of Dosages

We know that different types of pain require different types of treatment. Every case is unique. In addition to topical pain creams, our compounding pharmacy in Osage Beach can form a large variety of different dosages, including:

  • Nasal Sprays
  • Transdermal Creams
  • Trouches (lozenges)

By customizing your medication specifically for your situation, we can be confident that the medication you receive will be the needed strength to treat your unique situation. You are unique, shouldn't your medication be too? Our dosage forms bypass the gastrointestinal tract and may provide optimal results without any side effects. Our patients vary in size, symptoms, and pain tolerance, so commercially manufactured medications often do not provide the right dosage strength. Through our compounding, we can make sure the medication has the exact amount needed.
