Whole-Body Healing: Therapeutic Massage

The Lime in the Coconut Pharmacy is known for producing the best compounded medication at the Lake of the Ozarks, but that's not all we do! This week, we'd like to take the opportunity to tell you a little bit about another very popular service we offer: massage therapy at the Lake of the Ozarks.

History of Massage Therapy

Massage therapy dates back literally thousands of years, with the first recorded practices in India and China taking place somewhere around 3,000 BCE. Massage therapy owes its longevity and success to its unique ability to work with the tissues of the body to relieve tension, stress, stiffness, and other symptoms.

Hippocrates himself, the father of modern medicine, expressed the belief that "The physician must be experienced in many things, but most assuredly in 'rubbing' - for rubbing can bind a joint that is too loose and loosen a joint that is to rigid."

Meet Darin Puppel, BCTMB, CST-T

Darin has been our resident massage therapist for over four years, and we couldn't be happier to have him as part of our team. His clients' emotional and physical well-being is Darin's top priority. He enters every session with an open mind and a positive outlook, ready to help his clients in any way he can.

Darin studied massage therapy at the National Holistic Institute in Los Angeles, California in 2010. He completed an internship at Brooks Massage Therapy while in school and went to work there full-time after graduating. He began his own private practice here at the Lime in the Coconut Specialty Compounding Pharmacy when he moved back to Missouri in 2011.

In addition to massage, Darin has discovered a strong passion (and talent) for CranioSacral Therapy, a unique hands-on therapy that works to enhance the functioning of the body's membranes and internal systems, especially those surrounding the brain and spinal column.

Say GOODBYE To Sinus Pain & HELLO To NasoNeb®!

Sinus pain and allergies are some of the most frustrating health issues anyone can experience. They are generally minor enough that victims think they should be able to go about their lives as usual, but severe enough that can make even simple, mundane tasks very challenging. Common symptoms of allergies and sinus pain include:
  • Coughing
  • Wheezing
  • Runny Nose
  • Itchy / Watery Eyes
  • Nasal Congestion
  • Sore Throat
  • Stuffy Nose
  • Sinus Headaches
Fortunately, you don't have to resign yourself to suffering from these debilitating symptoms! Your friends at The Lime in the Coconut Specialty Compounding Pharmacy are here to help with this fantastic allergy solution.

NasoNeb® Nasal Nebulizer

NasoNeb® Nasal Nebulizer is specifically designed to provide fast, easy relief to patients suffering from chronic allergies. Designed as a penetrating aerosol spray, NasoNeb delivers a high concentration of customized allergy medication to your entire nasal cavity. The droplets created by this spray are especially designed to remain in the nasal cavity. This reduces the likelihood of some of these drops getting transported to the lungs, which in turn reduces the chance of undesirable side effects.

As a few examples, patients suffering from the following types of symptoms and conditions can generally benefit from NasoNeb® treatment:
  • Chronic Nasal Crusting & Infection
  • Sinus Infections
  • Uncooperative Allergic Rhinitis
If you or someone you know is suffering from these types of conditions, we would love the chance to talk to them about how NasoNeb® may be the solution they need.

Rave Reviews For NasoNeb®

"As a patient, the NasoNeb® Nasal Nebulizer has been very helpful to me. It's a genius concept in how effective and easy it is to utilize. I highly recommend the NasoNeb® to anyone with allergy or sinus issues."
- Chad G.

"My son got a malignant neoblastoma in his sinuses. His ENT gave me a NasoNeb to prevent meningitis. He uses it with tobramycin. This is an excellent product; it delivers the medication perfectly."
- Jennifer D.

"I have had a MedInvent Nasal Nebulizer for over five years. It is a miracle cure for my chronic sinusitis (which persisted despite two sinus surgeries). I use it twice daily with plain saline, and with steroids during peak allergy seasons."

Testosterone & Beyond: Men's Hormone Replacement Therapy

When we talk about "raging hormones," most people think of women. Puberty, PMS, pregnancy, menopause... it's no secret that fluctuating hormone levels affect women for most of their lives. However, it is a slightly lesser known fact that men experience similar fluctuations in their hormone levels - especially as they age - and that these fluctuations can have serious effects on their mental and physical well-being. Luckily, the team at our Lake of the Ozarks compounding pharmacy can help make the process easier!

Andropause - A Quick Overview

Andropause is essentially the male equivalent to menopause. During andropause, men's testosterone levels drop. While this is a natural part of the aging process, it can have some undesirable consequences, such as:
  • Sleep Disturbances
  • Memory Loss
  • Fatigue
  • Low Libido
  • Muscle Loss
  • Mood Changes
  • Decreased Stamina & Endurance
  • Depression
Fortunately, men experiencing these symptoms do not have to live with them forever. At The Lime In The Coconut Specialty Compounding Pharmacy, we specialize in bioidentical hormone replacement therapy - the process of supplementing the body with hormones that are structurally identical to the hormones found naturally within the body. (Check out our previous blog to learn more about bioidentical hormone replacement therapy.)

We Can Help Ease The Process!

Andropause therapy offers renewed vitality by off-setting effects of natural testosterone loss, and we are happy to report that we have helped many male patients achieve a greater quality of life through our hormone therapy. Our Missouri compounding pharmacist will work with you and your doctor to determine the exact testosterone replacement required by your body and will use that information to create medication uniquely designed for you.

We can deliver your medication in several different forms, depending on your specific needs. Common dosage forms include:
  • Capsules
  • Topical Creams
  • Troches (Lozenges)
  • Topical Alcohol Gels
